Awesome Miner security checklist

1. Use the publisher’s download

The current Windows and Linux packages are listed on the publisher’s download page. Windows installer properties should show the expected digital signature before installation.

2. Enable authentication for web access

The built-in web interface can start, stop, restart, and reboot miners. Enable authentication in the application’s Security settings before allowing other devices to connect. Use HTTPS when the interface is available beyond a trusted local network.

3. Use a VPN for remote sites

The publisher recommends a VPN when miners are on another network. Remote Proxy and Cloud Services are alternatives for specific deployments. Avoid exposing miner administration or the built-in web interface directly through public port forwarding.

4. Limit user permissions

Awesome Miner supports user groups and permissions for miner access, pool access, and administrative actions. Give each operator only the controls needed for their role.

5. Keep wallet secrets out of the application

Pool configuration may require a public wallet address and pool credentials. It does not require a wallet seed phrase or private key.

6. Update and back up

• Keep the Windows or Linux host updated.
• Back up the Awesome Miner configuration before major changes.
• Test new rules, pool changes, and upgrades on a selected miner first.
• Keep a copy of the working configuration and record how to restore it.
